New York drawbridge map — canal lifts, parkways, and the city

Two very different New Yorks: upstate, 20 Erie Canal lift bridges rise on demand all season (each with its own phone — on this map); downstate, NYC's movable bridges need two hours' notice and the Long Island parkway drawbridges lift for the boat channels. Tap any bridge for its rule.

How it works: canal lift bridges come from the NY Canal Corporation’s own dataset (coords, phones); opening rules come from the US Coast Guard’s Drawbridge Operation Regulations (33 CFR Part 117). No New York agency publishes live raised/lowered status — canal bridges open on demand in navigation season, and NYC bridges open only with advance notice.
