Every truck a state DOT publishes a live position for, on one map. Tap a truck for its route, mile marker, heading and when it last reported. Trucks that have not reported in an hour are faded. This is where the trucks are. It is not a report that any road has been plowed.
Positions come straight from each DOT's truck feed and refresh every minute. A parked truck keeps reporting from the yard, so a pin is not a sign that the road is being worked. Washington, Oregon, California and most other states do not publish truck positions.

Each pin is a truck's last GPS report. "Reporting now" counts trucks heard from in the last hour. "Older" counts trucks whose last report is more than an hour old; they stay on the map, faded. Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas and Nebraska trucks also report what material they are putting down and, on some trucks, a photo from the truck's own camera. Colorado's feed is CDOT's whole fleet, so only vehicles CDOT names as snow plows are shown.
Heading to a ski resort? The ski resort road pages show the trucks on each resort's access road, with the cameras and closures for that road, for 63 resorts.
The same layer is in the MileCheck app under Map Options, with the trucks drawn around your own position. The app also shows DOT cameras, live closures and your nearest mile marker.
Before a winter drive, read how do you know if a mountain pass is open, how do you drive safely in winter conditions and which highways are most dangerous in winter.
The MileCheck app shows the plows near your position on the same map as the DOT cameras and live closures, with your nearest mile marker on screen while you drive.
