How it works: opening schedules come from the US Coast Guard’s Drawbridge Operation Regulations (33 CFR Part 117) — the federal rules every bridge tender follows. The Hood Canal Bridge draw span closes SR-104 to traffic when it opens for vessels — often 30–60 minutes.
