I-75 runs the eastern spine of the state, Tennessee line through London and Lexington to Cincinnati. I-64 crosses west to east through Louisville, Frankfort and Lexington. I-71 links Louisville to Cincinnati, and the three interstates converge on Louisville and Lexington. The parkways carry their own names and their own milepost lines.
Eastern Kentucky's hill country brings dense valley fog in the mornings, ice on the grades in winter, and flash flooding in the hollows after heavy rain. When a slide or flood closes a road, the closure is announced by route and milepost, and on the rural routes and parkways that milepost is often the only reference around. GoKY carries the closures; its feed is small, so a quiet map here is normal.
Over 25 daily snapshots from September 1 to 25, 2026, MileCheck's archive of the GoKY feed held 39 unique reports, including 39 closure reports. The routes with the most reports were US-60, KY-773 and KY-825. Counts reflect what the feed publishes, so a state whose DOT posts only closures shows only closures. The map above shows every full closure GoKY is publishing as a red marker, crashes in orange, and weather and hazard alerts in blue and purple. Closures the DOT has posted for a future date are listed as scheduled, and ramp and lane closures sit under the toggle so the list stays readable. It reloads every five minutes.
