Texas drawbridge map — Galveston and the bayous

Texas keeps its movable bridges near the water that works — Galveston Channel’s Pelican Island Causeway drawspan, the Brazos diversion channel, and the bayou crossings toward Louisiana. Most open only with hours or even a day of notice. Tap any bridge for its rule.

Most Texas spans need 6–24 hours’ notice to open.

How it works: opening rules come from the US Coast Guard’s Drawbridge Operation Regulations (33 CFR Part 117). Texas publishes no live drawbridge status, so schedules are the tool here. Bridges without a map pin are listed with their rule but haven’t been precisely located yet. Also see Seattle and the other state pages on the Maps hub.
