More states — the rest of the drawbridge rulebook

Eleven states keep just a handful of federally regulated movable bridges each — Georgia’s river rail spans, Washington DC’s Anacostia bridges, New Hampshire’s coastal crossings, Vermont’s lake spans, and the scattered river drawspans of the Midwest. They’re all here, each with its 33 CFR 117 opening rule. Tap any bridge.

How it works: opening rules come from the US Coast Guard’s Drawbridge Operation Regulations (33 CFR Part 117). These eleven states publish no live drawbridge status, so schedules are the tool here. Larger states have their own pages on the Maps hub. Bridges without a map pin are listed with their rule but haven’t been precisely located yet. Also see Seattle and the other state pages on the Maps hub.
