The Ohio Turnpike, I-80 and I-90, runs the width of northern Ohio past Toledo and Sandusky and south of Cleveland, about 241 miles on its own milepost line. I-71 is the state's diagonal, linking Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. I-70 crosses east to west through Columbus, I-75 runs north to south through Toledo, Dayton and Cincinnati, and I-77 drops from Cleveland through Akron and Canton toward West Virginia.
Lake-effect snow off Lake Erie hits I-90 between Cleveland and the Pennsylvania line, and the Turnpike posts speed reductions and bans for high-profile vehicles in wind. Freezing rain glazes I-70 and I-71 across the middle of the state. OHGO posts closures and incidents by route and mile, and on the Turnpike the exit numbers are the mileposts.
Over 25 daily snapshots from September 1 to 25, 2026, MileCheck's archive of the OHGO feed held 555 unique reports, including 192 closure reports, 49 crash reports and 296 work-zone reports. The routes with the most reports were I-71, I-75 and I-70. Counts reflect what the feed publishes, so a state whose DOT posts only closures shows only closures. Read the September Highway Report.
The map above shows every full closure OHGO is publishing as a red marker, crashes in orange, and weather and hazard alerts in blue and purple. Closures the DOT has posted for a future date are listed as scheduled, and ramp and lane closures sit under the toggle so the list stays readable. It reloads every five minutes. If the feed cannot be reached the page says so instead of showing an empty map. For the official list, open OHGO.
