MileCheck is live on the Geotab Marketplace. Fleets running Geotab can now add real-time highway mile markers and live road alerts directly inside the systems they already use — with no rebuild on their side. We're thrilled.
What it does
MileCheck installs as an Add-In inside MyGeotab and Geotab Drive. It reads the vehicle's position from the Geotab API and surfaces the nearest highway mile marker — plus direction, speed, and the live road alerts ahead — right in the dashboard. Those alerts come straight from state DOTs: closures, crashes, construction, chain controls, and weather, normalized into one consistent format across the country.
Why mile markers matter for fleets
Dispatch, roadside assistance, state DOTs, and law enforcement all communicate by route and mile marker. It's the language of the road. When a driver is stopped on the shoulder, "mile marker 247 on I-80 westbound" gets help moving faster — and more accurately — than a dropped GPS pin. And knowing the closure or chain control ahead, before you reach it, is the difference between rerouting and sitting in it.
Most telematics platforms log GPS coordinates, so dispatch can't translate "I'm at MP 184 on I-80" into a routable position without a manual lookup. Navigation and traffic tools weren't built to give fleets that precise, official layer. MileCheck is.
The bigger picture
MileCheck started as a consumer app for the people who live on the highway — truckers, road crews, first responders, and road-trippers. It's live on iOS and Android, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a 5.0 App Store rating. Under the hood, we've spent the last six months turning fragmented, state-by-state DOT data into a single normalized layer: mile markers in all 50 states, and direct-from-DOT live alerts in 48 states and counting.
Joining the Geotab Marketplace is the natural next step — taking that road-intelligence layer from one driver's phone to the fleets moving freight across the country.
The phone app is live too — iOS and Android, including CarPlay and Android Auto. Mile markers in all 50 US states, live DOT alerts from 48 states. $9.99 per year with a 7-day free trial.
