I-95 runs the Atlantic coast, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm, Daytona, Jacksonville. I-75 comes up the Gulf side through Naples, Tampa's orbit and Gainesville, crossing the Everglades on Alligator Alley. I-4 links Tampa and Daytona through Orlando. Florida's Turnpike cuts the diagonal from Miami toward Orlando on its own mile numbering, and I-10 runs the Panhandle from Jacksonville to Pensacola.
When a storm approaches, Florida's evacuation orders, contraflow plans and road-status updates are all given by route and mile, and in the Keys there is exactly one road out. Outside hurricane season the hazards are afternoon downpours, fog on Alligator Alley, and drawbridges that stop traffic on the coastal routes. FL511 posts all of it by route and mile marker.
Over 25 daily snapshots from September 1 to 25, 2026, MileCheck's archive of the FL511 feed held 214 unique reports, including 23 closure reports, 65 crash reports, 43 work-zone reports and 3 weather reports. The routes with the most reports were I-75, I-95 and I-10. Counts reflect what the feed publishes, so a state whose DOT posts only closures shows only closures. Read the September Highway Report.
The map above shows every full closure FL511 is publishing as a red marker, crashes in orange, and weather and hazard alerts in blue and purple. Closures the DOT has posted for a future date are listed as scheduled, and ramp and lane closures sit under the toggle so the list stays readable. It reloads every five minutes.
