I-95 crosses about 23 miles of Delaware but carries the whole East Coast through-traffic stream past Wilmington. DE-1 is the state's toll road, the main run south toward Dover and the beach towns. US-13 is the old north-south spine down the length of the state. I-295 and I-495 handle the Delaware Memorial Bridge approach and the Wilmington bypass.
Delaware's seasonal story is the beach run. DE-1 south to Rehoboth and the coast fills up every summer weekend, and coastal storms flood the low shore routes. The state is also drawbridge country along its canals and inlets, and a span opening for boat traffic can stop a beach-bound line cold. DelDOT publishes where its plows are only while a snow event is on.
Over 25 daily snapshots from September 1 to 25, 2026, MileCheck's archive of the DelDOT feed held 151 unique reports, including 24 closure reports, 5 crash reports, 84 work-zone reports and 4 weather reports. Closures the DOT has posted for a future date are listed as scheduled, and ramp and lane closures sit under the toggle so the list stays readable. It reloads every five minutes.
