Hurricane Ridge Road climbs from Port Angeles into Olympic National Park. US 101 is the through-road around the north side of the peninsula. The agencies that run each road post different data.
Hurricane Ridge Road runs 17 miles from Port Angeles to the ridge at 5,242 feet. NPS posts winter opening days and chain requirements. Every vehicle must carry tire chains above Heart O' the Hills from November 1 through April 1, including four-wheel drive.
