Direct support

A real inbox, not a support maze.

Questions, corrections and build problems go straight to the person making the app.

Something in the app is wrong

Tell us what you expected, what happened, and the screen you were on. A screenshot is useful if it does not contain private permit details.

A trail fact needs correcting

Send the fact, where you saw it, and a primary source if one exists. We would rather show a gap than publish an unsourced correction.

What to include

The app version and build number appear at the bottom of More. Also include your iPhone model, iOS version, the steps that produced the problem, and whether it repeats. Please remove permit confirmation numbers and other private details from screenshots.

Trip Recording and location

Trip Recording does not start automatically. If you want a background track, tap Start and follow the iOS permission prompts. If it stops unexpectedly, check the app’s location permission in iOS Settings and include your battery mode and iOS version in the support note. Do not send a GPX unless it is needed to diagnose the issue and you are comfortable sharing the coordinates it contains.

Official permits and current conditions

The app is independent and cannot change a permit, confirm current trail conditions or make an official boundary determination. Use the official Recreation.gov permit page and the managing Forest Service district for current rules. For the live drive, use MileCheck road closures.

Not an emergency service

The app and this inbox are not monitored for emergencies. In an emergency, call 911 if service is available and use the emergency and backcountry communication plan you arranged before the trip.
