Truck drivers

Tow operators

How it works

The display has its own GPS, so it tracks your position and finds your mile marker on its own. It doesn't need your phone once it's set up, and it doesn't wait on a Bluetooth link while you drive.

Bluetooth is only for occasional updates. Every so often it pairs with your phone to pull the latest milepost data and any software updates. Day to day it runs on its own.

Questions about the mile marker display

Is the MileCheck mile marker display for sale?

Not yet. It's in development, and we need sign-ups to get the funding to build it. Signing up costs nothing, and everyone on the list hears first when you can order one.

How does a GPS mile marker display work?

It reads your position from its own GPS, finds the nearest milepost in the mile marker data stored on the device, and shows the highway and mile number. It doesn't need your phone or a cell signal to do that.

Does it need my phone?

No. The display has its own GPS and its own rechargeable battery. Your phone is only used every so often over Bluetooth to update the milepost data and the software.

Will it work in my state?

The plan is all 50 US states, using the same milepost data as the MileCheck app. The first prototype only has I-90 loaded so far.

How much will it cost, and when will it ship?

There's no price or ship date yet. Both depend on the funding. Everyone who signs up hears first.

Can I get them for my fleet, plow trucks, or tow trucks?

Yes. Put the number of vehicles in the "How many would you want?" box when you sign up. Fleet numbers help the most with funding.

Is there a way to see my mile marker right now?

Yes. The MileCheck app shows your nearest mile marker on your phone in all 50 states, and the 50-state mile marker map works in any browser.
